“Freeport on Foot” Summer Walking Tours Announced for 2010
Freeport Historical Society (FHS) announces its schedule of guided walking tours for historic Freeport Village beginning on Saturday, May 22nd at 10:00am. Additional dates include June 12, July 10 and 24, August 7 and 21, September 11 and 25.
These one-hour tours all begin at Harrington House, 45 Main Street. Free parking is available at the rear of the building.
Led by experienced guide and history-enthusiast, Nancy Gunn, you’ll hear stories about Freeport’s early leaders, significant events and important architectural gems. Did you know Freeport had its own hospital?
Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. Check our weather hotline at 865-3170 for any cancellation message due to inclement weather. Reservations are urged and each tour is limited to 20 people.
Tickets are $7.00 Adults, $3.00 Members, and children ages 16 years old and younger are free.
