A big thank you to Gnome Landscapes, Design, and Masonry for all their hardwork!
In September, Gnome Landscapes, Design, and Masonry of Falmouth generously donated two days of work and materials to beautify the area around our newly installed fence.
“The hardworking team from Gnome was truly a pleasure to work with on this project. Our Main Street location can be a challenging public place in which to be undertaking landscaping, but the Gnome team were cordial, worked quickly and gave us a thoughtful and practical landscaping solution,” stated Director, Christina White. “This work complements the handsome new iron and granite fence that graces the front of historic Harrington House on Main Street.”
“Gnome re-graded the front edge of the property, provided sod, and cleaned and mulched along the fence line creating a finished, clean appearance”, remarked Collections Manager, Ned Allen. “It works aesthetically and allows ease of maintenance which is important.”
Earlier in the season, some overgrown and invasive shrubs were removed from the Harrington House courtyard. “Four heirloom variety apple trees were planted—a nod to the apple orchards that once existed on the Harrington’s property.”
With the continuing assistance of Master Gardeners, future work will include thinning and replanting of the flower and herb beds.
