We welcome volunteers of all ages throughout the year based on your schedule and interests. Learn something new, keep current skills sharp, enjoy the camaraderie of other volunteers and join us as we keep Freeport’s fascinating history alive.
“From the first day that I dropped by I found my volunteering time extremely rewarding. The project that I spent most of my time on was transcribing a ship’s log. It was exciting that the log was from a ship whose captain was Captain Porter of Porter’s Landing, a favorite spot on my regular neighborhood walks. It was also exciting to work with other volunteers, some of whom were also working on the log and some of whom had other tasks. My experience at FHS benefited me far more than my bit of transcribing did for FHS. If and when I have more flexibility with my time, I’ll be back to work on one of the many projects that await.” Karen Fletcher
