- Protect the Collection by building a new fireproof VAULT with museum grade shelving and atmospheric controls to organize and protect our historic documents, paintings, and artifacts.
- Make the Buildings Accessible by providing wheelchair access through the gardens and a RAMP from the parking lot to our new front entrance on the ell porch.
- Stabilize the Barn by repairing the foundation and flooring structures of the BARN to host a new vendor/tenant in our unique space on Main Street, Freeport.
- Provide Research/Library Space by restoring the ELL with a new accessible public bathroom, life safety and security improvements and offering a wonderful space to research and explore the collections with staff support.
Due to risk posed by the coronavirus, FHS has opted to postpone upcoming events until further notice. This means that we will not be hosting:
The History of Plants on March 26th
FHS 2020 Annual Meeting on April 4th
Continual Bloom in the Perennial Garden on April 7th
We are optimistic about re-scheduling these wonderful events in the near future, and we wish all of our members and friends safety and wellness during this difficult time.
